London restaurant logo

April saw us complete this logo design for Soho restaurant Antidote which recently rebranded. They wanted the logo to show that food and drink were of equal importance to their concept and the curly fork is an item of cutlery they use on their table settings which they have grown to be associated with over the years. Antidote is a fantastic place to go and if you are ever in the area do pay it a visit!

Our cards in Blackwells flagship store

We herts vintage

At the start of June we took a stand at the Hertford Vintage Fair. It was an absolute scorcher of a day, but well worth staying inside for and fair organiser Holly went to huge efforts to ensure it was a success. We are not back at this fair until September. But will be showing at Hitchin Town Hall on 11 July.

V is for Vintage

A sunny weekend in May saw me stalling out at the Vintage Fashion and Accessories Fair - just down the road from me in Harpenden. The fair was excellent and I met loads of lovely people there including Felicity Gower from fab boutique Now Voyager (www.now-voyager.co.uk). I was selling my cards as well as a selection of vintage photos and ephemera (cute books, cards, prints etc) which is what I spend some of my time doing when I am not behind a Mac or my sketchpad!

New designs for kids

In March we began designing a new range of greeting cards for children for our Welsh distributor. They started hitting the shops in May and we are all really happy and excited about how they are doing. The range includes 12 age cards (1-6 for boys and girls) and a new baby boy and new baby girl designs. I even managed to squeeze a portrait of my doggy Eddie into the 4 boy card, which one buyer very kindly described as one of the best cards they had seen! It goes without saying that my next favourite was 6 girl, which was covered in yummy cupcakes!

Love is in the air

We actually started working on these Valentine cards for our Welsh distributor back in November 2009 as he started selling them to his clients in December. We produced three designs, James designed the champagne card and I did the other two. It was really good fun designing them and they looked so lovely all packaged up in their rose red envelopes!

Festive frolics

We are always fairly busy over the Christmas period working on company Christmas cards. This last Christmas (2009) two of my favourites were those we did for JUBB UK Ltd, a manufacturing firm, and Renard Books, an antiquarian book and photograph dealer. The JUBB card was extra special as inside it had a further illustration of a paper chain made out of the new type of plastic bottle it had started to manufacture and wanted to tell its clients about. We like to start working on Christmas cards as early as poss so if you would like us to do yours this year do get in touch as soon as you can to avoid the end of year rush. But, if you do leave things a little too late, no problem, we will always do our best to squeeze you in!
